Oversized Binary Logs

Replication between two or more MariaDB servers requires binary log. This log contains all queries that have run on the master server and change the state of the database (i.e. INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE). This binary log is transferred to the replica server. The replica runs all the commands from the log, ensuring the two databases are identical. Because the replication can be delayed (the replica is overloaded, performing backups or just less performant), binary logs are kept for several days. If the disk usage reaches critical levels, we recommend upgrading the disk array.
